American Culture and Literature program was established in 1991 in Western Languages and Literature Department, Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The program began to offer BA degree courses in the year of its establishment, MA courses in 1993, and PhD in 1996. Following the establishment of the Faculty of Letters in 2010, Western Languages and Literature Department was renamed permanently as American Culture and Literature Department on March 8, 2012.
